Extended School Age Care Policies |
The Weekly Extended Care Program for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade program runs Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. when school is in session. You may choose to have your child attend fewer days, but the cost will be for a five-day program. If you use less than 2 days a week for care then you are charged a drop-in rate. |
With the Drop In Rate you have the option to pay as needed. If you need care for less than 2 days a week, you are charged a drop-in daily rate. Students that are not registered in our weekly before/after school care, the drop in rates will apply. Please notify school office with a phone call at least by the start of the school day that your child will be attending our program.

No School and Half Day Closures
For children in K-8th Extended Care Program who require additional hours of care during half days of school and No School days, the following applies. The child must return registration letter regarding their attendance. Additional charges will be added to the month charges following the day of attendance.

Drop In Rates for Half Day and No School Closures
Your child must fill out registration letter along with a pre payment of fee in order to attend on the No School Day.

All pre-payments are non-refundable, in order to maintain staff, building and supplies.

No Sibling Discount
Discounts are only on tuition not child care.

Holiday Care and Summer Program
These programs run Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the Christmas Break, Spring Break and Summer Program. You are required to register your child for these programs along with a pre-payment of weekly fees. You may choose to have your child attend fewer days, but the cost will be for a five-day program. The costs include breakfast, snacks, lunch and special activities. The cost will be determined at a later date.

Action for Illinois
Families that participate in Action for Illinois can attend our Extended School Age Care at Walther Lutheran Academy as soon as we receive confirmation of payment from the state. Families are required to pay the co-pay and any additional amount not covered by Action for Illinois.

Extended Care Payment
Tuition and child care billing shall be sent to parents on or about the 15th of each month. Payments are due on the first day of next month. All payments for ECC/Extended Child Care fees are payable to Walther Lutheran Academy.

Late Payment Charges
If the balance due is not paid in full, an additional $5 charge will be added each week until the balance is paid in full. Should the balance go unpaid for an additional month, your child will not be allowed to attend until the balance and late fees are paid in full. |
Return Check Fee
A $30 fee is charged each time a check is returned. This fee is payable in cash. If there are two check returns within one calendar year, all payments must be made in either cash, certified check, or by money order for one calendar year.

Late Pick-up Penalty
If your child is not picked up by your contract time (12 p.m., 3:15 p.m., or 6 p.m.) there is an additional fee payable in cash within 48 hours. The fee will be $10 for any portion of the first ten minutes and $1 for each additional minute.
Excessive late pick-ups and/or failure to pay fees in a timely manner will jeopardize your child’s participation in the program. |
