ADMISSIONS POLICY

Walther Lutheran Academy is operated for the purpose of providing Christian Education for students at the pre-school, elementary, and junior high level. It admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin, and religion to all the rights and privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin and religion in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic, or other school administered programs.

The Academy may not be able to serve students with special needs and therefore may refuse admission. Students may be admitted under a probationary status, which will allow us to closely monitor the student's progress.

The procedure for admission to the Academy is as follows:

1. An application available from the school office must be completed and submitted with a non-refundable application fee.

2. A family interview will be conducted with the parents/guardians of the student.

3. The family will be notified for acceptance at which time a registration and book fee must be paid to reserve a space for each student.

4. The family must sign an enrollment agreement and parental agreement before registration is complete.

5. All students must submit immunization records according to the state law. Physicals are required of students entering school at kindergarten and at grade

6. Eye examinations are required upon a student's entry to school.

Students are accepted on a first come first serve basis taking into account our ability to meet the educational needs of the student.

Students who qualify for special education assistance or have other special circumstances will have their eligibility for enrollment determined on a case by case basis by the school administration after consultation with teachers, parent and the previous school if applicable.

The first year of attendance at Walther Lutheran Academy is considered a probationary year. Termination of student enrollment, should it become necessary, may occur at any time during the school year as determined by the school administration.

Those enrolling in upper grades must obtain a release form so that information from the child's previous school can be obtained. Information should be available by the time of the scheduled admission interview. Parents are requested to bring any other important information that they may have such as report cards and achievement test scores. A copy of a certified birth certificate is required of students enrolled in 3 year old, pre-kindergarten through 1st grade programs.
