EARLY CHILDHOOD AND KINDERGARTEN AGE REQUIREMENTS

Students must be three (3), four (4), or five (5) years of age on or before September 1st of the year they enter school into each respective program.

Advancement from early childhood to kindergarten will be based on teacher recommendation to the principal along with results of readiness testing.

Children who wish to enter kindergarten and who have not attended Walther Lutheran Academy’s Early Childhood program can be enrolled on the basis of:
1.) completion of a screening test for readiness, or
2.) approval of the kindergarten teacher and principal.

Advancement from kindergarten to 1st grade is based on the recommendation of the kindergarten teacher to the principal. In cases where advancement is in question, testing will be administered to help determine the child’s developmental level and potential need for further growth before entering elementary school.

A non-refundable registration fee must be paid.

The school must receive the legal certified birth certificate for enrollment.
