Meet the 2007 Top Grads!

Stacia Schmidt Taylor '62

Stacia Schmidt Taylor, B.S., C.P.A. has had a 40 year career in business combined with many years of volunteer board service with a focus on education and healthcare issues. Receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a CPA certificate, she has worked in public accounting and as an industry chief financial officer in Chicago. Subsequent to that she founded her own firm which has offered in-house financial education to the Chicago business community for the last 15 years.

Since 1977 Ms. Taylor has served on the Board of the Ledger and Quill Society of DePaul University of Chicago for which she is the first woman member. While consulting with the Illinois CPA Society she developed and implemented their first Industry and Business Educational Programs which highlights her commitment to build a business model that better serves the community.

She has served on the Arthritis Foundation Greater Chicago Chapter Board for 15 years. This is the nation's largest volunteer organization for funding research to find a cure for arthritis and offering community educational and self-help outreach programs for those with arthritis. She has just completed her two year term as Chairperson of the organization during which her commitment was to foster "quality of life" issues and for which she received an Outstanding Leadership Award.

Stacia lives with her husband Bob in Oak Park. They travel extensively to their combined family in California, Colorado, Arkansas and Florida. She was the keynote speaker at Walther Graduation 2007.

D. Lyneir Richardson '84

D. Lyneir Richardson (aka "Showtime") is driven to make visions become reality. While a student at Bradley University his hard work and potential for success was recognized as he was designated the Lincoln Laureate for the school. Lyneir has also been recognized in 2000 by his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha with the professional service award, and as the Small Business Administration, Illinois Businessman Person of the Year.

After practicing law and starting his own development corporation, Lyneir is now Vice President of Urban Land Development for General Growth Properties. He is frequently a speaker at workshops on urban development.
