Dear Walther Parents,

You can make a difference at Walther! How? GET INVOLVED and participate in the Booster Club’s many activities throughout the school year. We would like to share with you the Booster Club’s game plan for the 2007-2008 school year.

Who is a Booster: YOU ARE – parents and alumni of Walther volunteer time and act as leaders to meet our goals for supporting the extracurricular activities our students. The Booster Club provides the funds necessary to meet our budget needs as well as supporting school events and concessions.

What Boosters Do: The Boosters financially support Walther’s band, choir, drama and athletic departments through concession stand and Spirit Wear sales. The Boosters host various fundraising events during the year. The Booster events support the Wheels for Walther fund.

Don’t miss another minute and experience the Walther community and GET INVOLVED!!

When Boosters Meet: the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Room 101.

Why Participate: To meet other parents; to be a part of the success that Boosters bring to the students and to be involved in our student’s extracurricular activities.

The primary resource is...YOU!

Game Plan Goals and Objectives for 2007-2008

1. Support the needs of the Athletic, Drama and Music Departments through fundraising efforts. The Boosters purchase uniforms, equipment, and other supplies for these departments. We need your help and gifts to be successful.

2. Promote our student activities. Check the school calendar, Walther website and get involved! Participate with your student in their activity.

3. Increase the involvement of Walther parents in School and Booster activities. If you have not already done so, please print and fill out the GET INVOLVED sheet and tell us when and how you can GET INVOLVED. At Walther there is always something for everyone to do!

4. Fundraisers for the 2007-2008 school year support the Wheels for Walther fund to purchase a new school bus.

-- Walther Recycle$: from September 2007 to May 2008. In 2006-2007 the Boosters raised $300 collecting used cell phones and ink jet cartridges. For 2007-2008 the Boosters are expanding the recycling to include LaserJet cartridges, digital cameras, iPods, PDAs, laptops, video games, video game consoles. Let's get started on making this fundraiser a success.
-- Oktoberfest 2007: Sunday, October 21, 2007– 12 to 4 p.m.
-- Poinsettia Sale: Pre-orders October 8 to October 29, 2007
-- Spring Plant Sale: Pre-orders March 3 to March 28, 2008
-- Taste of Walther 2008: Saturday, March 15, 2007 - 1 to 5 p.m.

Commit Now to Doing Something Great!

1. Purchase a Booster Athletic Pass. An athletic pass is a great way to see all of the sport activities at a reduced cost.

2. GET INVOLVED - complete the GET INVOLVED sheet.

3. Mail everything to the Booster Club c/o Walther Lutheran High School, 900 Chicago Ave., Melrose Park, IL 60160.
