Curriculum
Walther
uses
a
traditional
seven
period
schedule,
in
which
students
generally
take
six
or
seven
credits
per
year.
This
schedule
provides
students
with
flexibility
to
meet
all
their
academic
requirements
and
still
have
room
in
their
schedule
for
many
electives.

Teachers use cooperative learning, alternative assessments, problem-based learning, and Socratic seminars to supplement more traditional teaching methods to make the curriculum challenging for the student.
The Walther curriculum contains a required service component...

Registration for classes for the 2008-2009 school year will begin in April 2008. This process will involve the students signing up for the classes they want to take next year. When students walk out of the registration room they will have their schedules set for next year. Teachers will work with the students to ensure the best schedule possible for each student. The class schedule for each day of registration follows our assembly schedule and allows for a 1:56 dismissal. The designated class will register at that time while all other students are free to go home at that time. These are the 2007 registration dates:
Scholars - April 28
Class of 2009 - April 29
Class of 2010 - May 1
Class of 2011 - May 2
Class of 2012 registration is on March 13, 2008, 5-8:30 p.m., by appointment.
