Dear
Parents,
I
had
the
opportunity
to
worship
on
a
beach
Easter
Sunday
at
6:30
a.m.
with
600
other
Christians.
It
was
a
great
experience.
The
outdoor
Gulf
coast,
our
temporary
worship
center
was
packed.
Lawn
chairs
and
towels
lined
the
beach.
The
atmosphere
was
cloudy.
The
thick
fog
rolling
in
off
the
Gulf
of
Mexico
made
the
sky
like
pea
soup.
The
message
wasn't
clouded
though...
It
was
crystal
clear.
Christ
Is
Risen!
As
God's
people
our
knowledge
of
this
makes
us
different
from
the
rest
of
the
world.
Sharing
this
message
is
what
Walther
is
all
about.
Our
risen
Christ
enables
us
to
live
forever.
not
for
ourselves.but
for
Him
who
died
and
rose
victorious
on
that
first
Easter
morning.
Have
your
students
fulfilled
their
required
service
hour
component
for
their
Religion
class?
What
act(s)
of
service
do
your
students
do
that
witness
their
faith
in
our
risen
Lord?
At
our
last
chapel,
senior,
Diana
Gales
shared
how
she
helped
take
care
of
her
ailing
grandparent
as
she
related
the
joy
she
felt
in
helping
and
the
gift
she
provided
in
serving.
This
year
groups
of
students
staffed
a
Chicago
Marathon
aid
station,
walked
for
hunger,
served
at
their
church,
visited
shut-ins,
worked
around
Walther,
went
on
mission
projects,
etc.
How
do
you
daily
reach
out
with
God's
love?
Rejoice
in
the
Lord
always!
Again
I
say
rejoice.
If
you
have
questions
about
the
service
hour
requirement,
talk
with
one
of
the
Religion
teachers.
God
calls
us
to
serve
Him
in
all
we
do.
Mrs.
Korntheuer
has
just
been
informed
by
the
Chicagoland
Lutheran
Educational
Foundation
(CLEF)
that
she
is
a
finalist
for
the
Good
News
Awards
for
Teaching
Excellence.
The
CLEF
Board
will
announce
the
winners
of
this
award
at
its
seventh
annual
Teacher
Recognition
Dinner
at
the
Rosewood
Restaurant
in
Rosemont
on
Friday,
May
3.
You

more
about
CLEF
by

their

If
you
have
the
opportunity,
be
sure
to
congratulate
Mrs.
Korntheuer.
She
is
indeed
a
blessing
to
our
school
family
and
well
deserving
of
this
recognition.
There
have
been
an
increasing
number
of
requests
from
parents
to
take
their
students
out
of
school
for
extended
vacations.
Please
limit
your
vacation
time
to
regular
school
vacation
times.
There
are
only
30
some
days
left
on
this
year's
school
calendar.
Taking
students
out
makes
it
difficult
for
students
and
teachers
alike
to
make
up
work
that
is
missed.
The
subtle
message
that
is
given
is
that
it
may
not
be
important
to
be
in
attendance
at
school.
This
is
not
true.
Quite
simply,
class
discussion
cannot
be
replicated.
When
a
student
misses
a
day,
they
miss
an
essential
part
of
their
daily
education
that
cannot
be
replaced.
What
they
miss
goes
well
beyond
the
printed
word
in
a
textbook.
Today
we
begin
our
arena
scheduling.
This
is
the
final
step
in
registration
of
classes
for
the
2002-2003
school
year.
Scholar
students
begin
the
process
today
from
2-3
p.m.
in
the
multipurpose
room,
Juniors
are
slated
for
Wednesday,
Sophomores
on
Friday
and
current
Freshman
on
Monday.
School
dismissal
is
at
1:56
p.m.
on
each
of
the
arena
scheduling
days.
Students
needing
to
wait
for
rides
or
stay
for
practices
will
need
to
be
seated
in
the
cafeteria
by
2:10
p.m.
Students
with
tuition
accounts
unsettled
will
not
be
able
to
have
their
schedules
processed
until
accounts
have
been
cleared.
Tuition
account
concerns
are
being
handled
by
Mrs.
Muska
in
the
absence
of
Miss
Jackson,
who
is
on
medical
leave.
Have
a
great
week
as
you
rejoice
in
the
goodness
of
your
Risen
Savior!
