Dear Parent,

Can you believe it? I am sure your son or daughter has already informed you. There is only one week of the fourth quarter remaining. It is too soon to give up now. Keep your student focused on doing their best. Seniors especially are getting excited about moving on. This is a busy week as we wrap up. There are a variety of activities scheduled that you won't want to miss.

Spring Concerts
Tonight is the first of the two music performance concerts. Wednesday, 5/23 is the next. Both begin at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Rose has the bands tuned up. Mr. Block has the voices ready. All we need is you. I know you will enjoy these concerts.

Baseball/Softball
Due to the rainout yesterday, the varsity softball and baseball teams both play at Driscoll today. Game time is 4:30 p.m. Winning today will have them playing Saturday around 11 a.m. Did you know that our softball team is the Northern Division P.S.L Champion? Congratulations girls!

Congratulations are also in order for two outstanding senior athletes. Bo Flowers, who is ranked as the #1 player in Illinois, and senior LaFringe Hayes were featured on channel 2 and 9 T.V. sports shows this past Sunday evening. Mr. Gillingham and Mr. Bo Flowers, Sr. also made an appearance. The boys gave an excellent witness of their faith. If you saw the interviews you had to be as impressed as I was.

Tennis
Our netmen play today in their sectional hosted by OPRF. To advance further in the state competition as individuals or doubles 2 matches must be won. Advancing players will compete on Saturday morning.

Boys Track
Coach William Koehne is excited about tomorrow's sectional opportunities in Lisle. He is counting on spending next weekend at the state meet with a number of the athletes.

Awards Recognition Night
Tuesday, May 21 is our Awards Recognition Night. Letters have gone out requesting approximately 130 sets of parents to attend. Students are being recognized for their participation in clubs, accomplishments, and service. The informal reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with the recognition ceremony beginning at 6:50 p.m.

Relaxed Dress Code Day
The student council has arranged a relaxed dress code day for Wednesday, May 22. As part of their fundraising efforts, students may purchase passes to be out of dress code. Relaxed dress code does not allow student to dress immodestly or wear anything advertising rock groups, alcohol, or the like. Students dressed inappropriately will be withheld from class and sent home to change.

Calendar Change
Please note the calendar change. THURSDAY, MAY 23 IS AN 8 A.M. START DAY. FRIDAY, MAY 24, will be late arrival (9 a.m.) for Help Sessions and Chapel. We have made this change because we want to dedicate the new Science & Technology addition during chapel on Friday, May 24 at 9:35 a.m. That's right we are building! Through the blessings of God our 50 year old science labs are going to be brand new. We will have a new entrance, and our existing technology will be improved. Construction is to begin this summer and we are hopeful to be in our new building some time around the beginning of second semester next year. God's blessings abound!

End of the Quarter/Semester
The fourth quarter ends on Friday, May 24. Final exam schedules will be distributed to students this coming Monday on a pink piece of paper. Read the schedule carefully! Teachers will provide study guides for their students in class next week. (Some have provided them this week.) Students will not be admitted to an exam if they arrive late. Students must be in dress code. Students not attending an exam will receive a "zero" on their exam unless they have made prior arrangements with Mr. Zielke. If any student receives an incomplete grade for any course, the incomplete grades must be removed by Thursday, June 13 or the incomplete will become an "F". No locker or restroom passes will be given during the exam period.

Thanks
A special note of thanks to all the parents and students who worked to made the senior dinner a success this past Saturday. Mrs. Jarvia Thomas was the featured speaker. It was a great event for seniors and their parents.

Steve Zielke
Principal
