On Friday, September 14, the Walther Lutheran Broncos will face off against the Rockford Christian Life Eagles as they do every season. This year they will do it under the lights on a Friday night. Football teams all over America do this on Friday nights, but in the Private School League the gridiron matches traditionally take place on Saturday morning and afternoon. So break tradition and enjoy this once-a-year event: Friday Night Football under the lights. The Frosh/Soph game kicks off at 5 p.m. and Varsity gets under way at 7:30 p.m. There will be special entertainment and activities between games and the grills will be going as the Boosters serve up Bronco brats, burgers and other favorites. It's all happening at Walther Lutheran High School's Fran Fanelli Jr. Memorial Football Field right across from the school at 900 Chicago Ave. in Melrose Park, Illinois.
