WALTHER STUDENTS, ALUMNI AND COMMUNITY CELEBRATE HOMECOMING 2007 WITH PARADE, FOOTBALL GAMES On Saturday morning, October 13, Melrose Park residents will have a chance to catch “A Moment in Time” as the Walther Lutheran High School Homecoming Parade takes to the streets at 9 a.m. The parade, which kicks off from the parking lot at 9th and Chicago, will culminate at Francis Fanelli Jr. Memorial Football Field in readiness for the homecoming football games.
Current and returning classes will be showing their interpretations of “A Moment in Time” and the Homecoming royalty will be honored. The Homecoming King and Queen will be chosen from the student-elected nominees and crowned on Friday evening, October 12, at the school's Royal Rally.
The frosh-soph gridiron match is at 10:45 a.m. and the varsity Bronco game kick off is at 1 p.m. Both contests are against fellow conference rival, Luther South. The big game halftime will include another chance to celebrate “A Moment in Time” with music from the Walther Pep Band, performances by the Bronco cheerleading and poms squads and traditional Bronco brat, burger or pork chop sandwiches.
