USED PHONES, INK CARTRIDGES AND ELECTRONICS SUPPORT WALTHER

Walther Lutheran High School is collecting used cell phones, inkjet cartridges, laser jet cartridges, digital cameras, iPods, PDAs, laptops, video games and video game consoles. The proceeds from this collection will assist the school in purchasing a bus for student transportation. Donations from the public are welcome and may be turned in via the school’s Student Service office.

Donations are recycled in accordance with EPA regulations, or in some cases, refurbished and reused. If improperly disposed of, one cell phone can pollute up to 132,000 liters of drinking water. Walther is a 501(c)3 organization so the value of the items donated may be tax deductible.

Walther Lutheran High School is a co-educational Christian school located at 9th and Chicago in Melrose Park. The school has an enrollment of just over 400 students from fifty seven different Chicago area zip codes.
