Season Outlook
The Bronco wrestling team will need to replace eight starters in the line up from last year's team that went 16-1 and cracked the top 15 in state rankings for the first time in school history. The Broncos will be led by returning state qualifiers Will Jenkins and David Tuomi and state alternate Steven Campbell. Robert Watson, a sectional qualifier last year, and Keena Griffin a regional place winner will provide strength in the middle of the lineup. Seniors Donte' Davis, Mitch Berg, and Maurice Jefferson will step up to add experience to the upper weights. Juniors Larry Barajaz, Chris Candelas, Lucien Duhem, and Torrence Givan all come off of good frosh-soph years to fill the remaining spots left in the lineup. There is a promising group of freshmen that will fill the first five weights. They will take their lumps early, but will develop into a solid group by regionals. Walther will host an IHSA Regional for the first time.
