| Recently, Mr. Matt Tuomi's chemistry classes received a special visit from two special agents: Ms. C.B. and Mr. R.B. of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. [Note: Names have been withheld as a matter of national security!] The FBI agents used the entire period to tell the students about their interesting and informative jobs. They gave both verbal and PowerPoint presentations to the classes. The agents explained how chemistry is used everyday in their workplace. They showed the classes some things they brought with them: badges, uniforms, and special equipment they use on a daily basis. Each class ended with a question and answer time. Their presentation was interesting and left students in awe of the unique relationship between the work of the FBI and chemistry.
FACT: One of the visiting FBI agents worked on the investigation of flight 93 which went down in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the other was on the team assigned to the anthrax scare. Both are based at the Chicago field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. |
