Temptation

Our lives are filled with many temptations, whether it is as serious as murder or as simple as cheating on a test. The world is a sinful place, and we, as Christians, need to help each other out. We need to support one another so that no one falls into temptation. However, no earthly person can help us fully, because we all sin. Temptation can come from any source. Even your friends may tempt you, and you may have to choose between doing what is right and what is popular. We live in a sinful, fallen world, and Satan will use that to his advantage. He is very sly and sneaky, and he will try to tempt you. He wants you to fall away from God. If we look to God, He will help us stay on the narrow path.

He resisted all of the things that we are tempted with now. It says in Hebrews 2:18, “Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted." Because of Christ, we can stay on the narrow path and have the hope of eternal salvation. In heaven, we will live in a place where we won't have to worry about sin or temptation. We need to pray to God and find His answers in the Bible so that we may receive help and guidance in times of temptation. It says in Matthew 26:41, "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." God is the answer to resisting temptation.

Please pray with me...

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please help lead us down the narrow path. Help guide us and walk beside us so that we do not fall into temptation. Help us so that we may also help others. Help us to make the right decisions. Send your holy angels to protect us against the Evil One. Amen.
