I had a friend in the 7 th grade . He was really shy and quiet. He received good grades and was named the "teacher's pet". At first he let this get to him and he started acting out in class, just to prove the other guys wrong. Soon he realized that this wasn't the right way to go. He figured out that he didn't have to be like everyone else to fit in. While the other boys in the class continued to get bad grades, my friend did just the opposite. He succeeded and was a good example for the rest of our class. Eventually the boys realized they should be more like him instead of pressuring him to be more like them.

We should do the same thing with being a witness for Jesus. Instead of listening to others and being ashamed to claim Jesus and act right, we should be examples for Christ. Here are a few ways we can demonstrate our faith in Jesus. You can pray with a friend who is sick or in trouble. You can witness to someone who wants to learn more about Jesus. Take a friend to bible study. Invite family and friends to a Christian play or movie. Give to worthy causes and charities. Sing in your church or school choir or volunteer for your church services. Take every opportunity available to be an example for Christ. God will be pleased and that should fill your heart with joy.

Please pray with me: Dear God, please help me to be an example for You. Help me not to let others turn me away from You. Give me the strength to turn away from temptation and follow the right path, in Jesus' name, Amen.
