A team is a sometimes competitive unit that works together for a common purpose. Bastekball teams for together to score points; track teams work together to win meets. Even different music groups work together to comose or perform different pieces. Everyone can say they are part of some team, and know the feeling of acceptance or security it brings. One of the greatest "teams" we can be on is one here at Walther. This year's theme of oneness in faith can be expressed in so many ways. Event hough we all have a different relationshp with God, we are all working together to glorify and praise him. We all sometimes need help, and the benefit of this team is that we can build each other up and work to strengthen the "body: of Walther. When we lose one part fo a team we don't function to the full capacity, and the same goes fo "team" Walther. If we are negative to another part of the body, we hurt everyone. One great example of how negative action can affect a whole group of people id Judas's betrayal. John 18 verse 3 tells us the story we all know, "So Judas went to the graden, taking with him a group of Roman soldiers, and some Temple guards sent by the chief priests and the Pharisees; they were armed and carried torches." Judas brought the guards to take Jesus into custody and this directly affected the disciples, who look to Jesus as their leader. So you see, through one action, Judas betrayed many. For us to have our best experience possible at Walther we must all work together and encourage each other with Jesus' love.
Let us pray:
Dear God,
Please remind us that our actions do not only affect us, but others as well. Amen |
