This past week you gathered around the table with your closet family and friends and gazed at the delicious feast that was placed before you. Just picture it: that golden brown turkey stuffed with flavorful dressing, those creamy mashed potatoes with unbelievable tasting gravy, that spicy variety of tamales, not to mention all the wonderful sweet desserts which were prepared especially for you. Now imagine, just for a minute, that as you sit and stare in aw at this delectable banquet it begins to rot. Before you get to touch, to taste, the whole of this magnificent dinner it is being destroyed, right in front of your eyes. That slow-roasted turkey is now gone. Those perfect potatoes are watery. Everything that you had been waiting for has been wasted, and there is nothing you can do about it. How do you feel? Are you upset? Hurt? Mad? Sometimes in life we begin to rot. We choose to follow Satan and separate ourselves from God, because we don't realize that we need Him the most to help us repent our everyday sins, rather than turning to Him only when tragic events occur in our lives. We allow God to see us at our weakest and most sinful moments, and often times we gloat about it. We allow ourselves to be so vulnerable to temptation, and leave God able to do nothing except watch us destroy ourselves. He gets hurt. He gets angry. God knows that He has given you and me free will, the decision to choose whether or not we wish to follow His Word. That is why He sent His son, Jesus Christ. Jesus was sent as a sacrifice, not just for the sins of believers, but for the sins of the whole world, in the hope that they will believe. Because of Him, we can be forgiven. Because of Jesus, we are pure, without sin, in the eyes of God. For 1 John 1:7 says, "But if we walk in the light, he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin". Without Jesus in our lives, we would be rotting eternally in Hell. Thanks to Him, we now have life. Through Jesus' blood we have hope that we will have a fresh start, a new life with God eternally in Heaven.

Please pray with me.
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you this day and everyday to please help us repent of our sins. We all fall short of your glory and give into temptation. We hurt you Lord, and we are sorry. But we are weak in the eyes of the Devil. Please Lord; send your Holy Spirit upon us to renew us, to make us pure in your eyes. Please do this not only for our sake, but for the sake of Jesus as well. That way we will be able to have ultimate and true happiness, so that we may have eternal life with you in Heaven. In Jesus' beloved name, Amen.
