Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name. Psalm 86:11
WALKING ON THE WATER...
"Come,” He [Jesus] said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus." Matthew 14:29
Stephen C. Green
"Observe the commands of the LORD your God, walking in His ways and revering Him." Deuteronomy 8:6
After an unfortunate accident, the late comedian Richard Pryor was quoted once as saying, " I was given two weeks to walk again, so I hooked up with a trainer, and he... had me walking. I'll never forget that, it was grueling." We too are given a short amount of time to learn how to walk with God. We may not realize it, but our lifetime is not as long as we think. We will grow old, and we will die. Thankfully we are not alone in our task to rehab our broken relationship with God. He sent us Jesus to be our personal trainer. Just as a personal trainer works to help your physical rehab, Jesus will work and show us how we can become closer to God. It won't always be the most comfortable feeling in the world. Ask anybody that has been through physical rehab and they will probably tell you that at times it was difficult. In the same way, following God's commands can be at times painful and difficult. But that pain will teach us to follow God when we are tempted to think otherwise, and that will truly be glorifying God. We all need to remember that God is the focal point of our lives. If we are having trouble following him, we need to pray to God to help us, and being the loving God that He is, He will answer our prayers.
