"ADMIRABLE"
The theme for this month is the "whatever is admirable" part of our verse for the year. To admire something is to look on it with wonder or pleasure, or just to respect it highly.
So what are some things that you admire? The FAME of someone like Beyonce or 50 cent, The POWER of someone like Donald Trump, The TALENTS that ATHLETES or SUPERSTARS have, Or maybe the accomplishments of others, such as Bill Gates with Windows, or Sam Walton who created Wal-Mart?
Those are things that society and our sinful nature tell us to admire, but what are some things God wants us to admire? Another person's FAITH, Their ability to TRUST in GOD, no matter what, or maybe their ability to see the GOOD even in BAD situations?
YES.
But seeing as we're human, and sinful ones at that, we don't always admire what we should. Admiring the wrong things, like fame and power, can be dangerous. They can lead us down a path away from God, where we don't do what He wants us to, or really care. And if we don't care about God, but only worldly things, how are we going to end up in Heaven with Him? I'm not saying we have to be perfect, but we do have to try to admire the things that he wants us to, and not just focus on what we want.

Dear God, please be with us as we try to do what is right and admire what you want us to. Be with us thru this day and always. In Jesus name Amen. |
