It can be expected of a school with only about 400 kids that everyone knows everyone else's business. Walther is a very small school where rumors travel quickly. Some students try extremely hard to keep the secret, but here everyone knows the secret anyway. Some rumors can be quickly forgotten and some remembered forever. Many rumors come and go in your high school career, but some still linger and ruin reputations. Recently there have been many rumors and lies spreading around the school that could have devastating consequences and hurt many people.

In Jeremiah 51:46 it says, “ Do not lose hope or be afraid when rumors are heard in the land, one rumor comes this year, another the next…” So next time you feel the childish urge to spread a rumor refrain from doing so and remember the consequences of gossip.

Please pray with me.

Dear God, we thank you for every blessing that you have sent to Walther including its small size of 400 kids. Please help us realize that spreading rumors and gossip is wrong and through your strength we remember to model our lives by your example. Give us the strength to be courageous Christians and always try to follow Your word. In Your Name we Pray, Amen.
