One day a woman took her elderly mother to a cemetery to decorate the tombstones for Memorial Day. As the mother decorated her husband's grave, she looked around at all her loved ones who had now passed away. She quietly said to her daughter, "What have I done to deserve this?"

Naomi probably felt the same way. When she left Israel , she had a husband and two sons. Now, she was left with no one, or so it seemed. Even though God had taken away the three people closest to her, He also gave her two loving daughters-in-law. Even though Naomi felt alone, God had not deserted her, and He will always be there to provide her needs.

Maybe you have lost someone close to you or you feel lost and abandoned. Just let God fill your life with his presence and He will be our comfort.

Please pray with me-

Dear God, sometimes we feel lost and alone. Please help us to remember that we always have a friend in you, and that you will never leave our side. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
