Psalm 25:8-10 reads: Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

Choices. As we grow up, we have to make more. And they get more difficult. Think about it.

When we were younger, life was much more simple and carefree. The hardest choices were choosing whether to play Clue or Monopoly, or whether to beg for McDonald's or Wendy's for lunch. And if there was any problem making this choice, we could just do "eeenie-meenie-miney-moe."

Then, as we began to grow, choices became more difficult. We had to choose which friends to have over to your house, or what to wear to school. These choices could affect other people.

Now, as high school students, our choices are more difficult than we could have ever imagined. We have to make school-related decisions, such as whether to apply ourselves and do our homework, and where we will go to college. We also have to make personal decisions that can change our lives. These include: whether to drink, smoke, or use drugs, and how far to go in a relationship.

As we make these decisions, it is very important to think about what is right. Not what is right in our opinions, but what is right according to God. As we make decisions, we should think, "Would our decisions be pleasing to God?" If the answer is "No," then we should re-evaluate our decisions.

Sometimes, though, we make the wrong decisions. When this happens, God is right there by our side to forgive us, and help us make the best of our choice. And no matter what decisions we make, He will always love us.

et us pray: God, please help us to make good and right decisions. Help us to think about the consequences of our decisions and actions, and do the thing that is pleasing to you. And when we do make the wrong decision, help us to learn from our mistake. In your name we pray. Amen.
