The theme for this month at Walther is the "Whatever is noble" portion of the Phillippians 4:8-9 verse.  In our chapel sermon last week, it was pointed out how unused and unfamiliar this word really is.

At first, people think of nobility; kings, lords, princes, etc., but this is not the case.  It is actually the opposite of what God wants us to understand about the word noble.  Instead of thinking of "lording" something over people, one should not think of themselves and their standing, but rather about morals, values, and their actions towards others.

This can be directly applied here at Walther.  Besides the general, being kind to your classmates, and doing your homework, think about your actions and words especially in those times when it is not so easy to be noble.  Paul states in Romans, "Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all."  This is a great passage to keep in mind during the school year.  So think, not just during this month, but in the coming months as well, how you can be noble for the glory of God.

Prayer:  Lord, help us here at Walther to be noble.  Help us to show our Christian attitude and make wise choices, not only here, but to others outside of school as well.  Let us help each other in this task and lift each other up, rather than looking down on others.  Amen.
