Think about whatever is Excellent... do such things
What do you consider Excellent? Going downstate for the first time in 23 years? Playing an amazing solo in the band concert this evening? Many think that donating blood to LifeSource today during school is for an excellent cause. Some may find it to be an extremely excellent achievement to have survived the first week of spring practice with coach Gillingham or Katzenberger. Excellent is a word that should not be overused. But it should be something that we strive for. We should all strive to go downstate and represent our school. We should all strive to nail that big solo in the concert and get a standing ovation from the crowd filled with friends and family.
God wants us to strive for excellence. God wants us to get caught up in the excellent opportunities we have around us and take full advantage of them. God loves to see us succeed and accomplish our goals. He tells us, "Whatever is Excellent.do such things." God is rooting for us to make the big shot, get the game winning hit in the regional finals and ace those impossible tests to get that A. God wants excellence for us! Luckily for us though, God sent his Son to die for us because we can't be excellent all of the time. We will hit the wrong note and we will have that game winning three rim out at the last second. The most excellent thing we have going for us is to be able to be with God in heaven. That is what we must remember at all times!!!
Let's Pray: Dear God Thank you so much for helping me to accomplish such amazing and excellent things. None of which would have been possible without your love and support. Please help us to remember that and help us to continue to do excellent things in your eyes. In your name we pray. Amen |
