By: Megan Childs Our school theme this year is "One Body, Many Members." We have emphasized how each member of the body of Christ has a role to play, the same way each organ in our physical bodies performs its own function. But do you ever feel that you are playing the wrong role? Perhaps you wish you had a more important or visible role. Maybe you don't like the situation you are in. 1 Corinthians 12: 18 is right in the middle of the "one body" passage. We tend to overlook it, so listen again to what it says: "But in fact God has arranged the parts of the body, every one of them, just as he wished them to be." This verse reminds us that God has put each of us exactly where He wants us. We all have an important rob to play, whatever our situation may be. So when we start to wish for a different role in the body or question God's wisdom in placing us where we are, we can remind ourselves that He put us here, exactly where we are supposed to be. We should look for the role we are to play in our own situation and strive to fulfill that role to the best of our abilities.
Please pray with me:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your gift of community in the church. Thank You that we can rest assured that You have placed each of us here and You want us. Help us to be content with our roles in the body of Christ and strengthen us as we carry out Your will wherever we are.
