What’s Your Why?

Dear Friend,

The influence Walther Christian Academy has had on thousands of students and supporters since 1954 is profound! The accomplishments and talents of our alumni are highlighted so often when I receive donations and news, or speak on the phone with graduates that I meet at events. This small but mighty school is on the upswing! Increased student enrollment, more engagement through campaigns and appeals, the “We Are Walther” monthly newsletter, e-blasts, and events such as the Bronco Benefit, the Bucking Bronco 5K Run/Walk, the Homecoming Alumni Dinner and Concert, and Career Day help keep us connected.

Walther Christian Academy is now the only Lutheran High School in Chicagoland. Our student body is diverse and our school is welcoming to all of our students and their families who choose a Christian education. We continue to offer a rigorous academic curriculum that for many of our students includes college credit classes at Concordia University Chicago. Unique to Walther is our partnership with Concordia.  Along with our Advanced Placement courses, The Concordia Advantage Program allows our scholars to earn college credits that stay with them after graduating from Walther.  And while the majority of our high school graduates go on to a College or University, we are also creating partnerships with schools and companies that offer an alternative in the trades. Walther Christian Academy is committed to encouraging our students to explore and be the best version of themselves once they leave here.

A popular phrase today is “What’s Your Why?” What motivates you? What organizations do you think about at the end of the year? I hope that Walther is in your top three choices for organizations that you choose to support.  Most Americans who share their resources choose to support their church, their former school, and a health or animal rights charity. Will you consider choosing Walther this year? Could we be your “why?” Please know that your gift is critical in:

  • Supporting so many students that might otherwise not be able to attend Walther, and helping to make a difference in their lives.
  • Ensuring Walther‘s financial stability so that we can remain here for many years to come.
  • Endowing Walther with the resources to continue to support raises for our selfless and dedicated staff and teachers.

Please consider a gift to Walther Christian Academy at the highest level possible to support these and other priorities.

Have a blessed Christmas, and thank you for being part of our Walther circle of friends!
