2021 Spring Sports Year in Review

Our Bronco teams had a strong spring season, highlighted by the softball team’s successes.  They went undefeated in conference play and then won the conference tournament with a walk off home run, 16-15 over Chicago Hope Academy.

A week later, they beat Hope for the 3rd time this year 3-2 to win the Regional Championship. Bronco teams also secured 2 runner up finishes in conference action as the boys’ track team finished 2nd place in the conference meet while the boys’ volleyball team finished 2nd place in the conference tournament.   We also had some state qualifiers in track and field.  Senior Carla Verduzco qualified for state in the discus throw while freshman Ayana Hoskins qualified in the shot put.  On the guys’ side, our 800 meter relay team of Casper Powell, Stephen Roder, Antonio Cruz, and Austin Knight qualified for the state meet.  Victor Dianovsky subbed in for Antonio as the relay team just missed qualifying for the finals by 1 second .
