Strategic Plan

Mission Statement: Walther Christian Academy is a culturally diverse and inclusive Christian middle and high school, rooted in the Lutheran tradition. Walther nurtures and prepares learners to fulfill their unique God-given potential through academic excellence, spiritual growth, and service, leadership and enrichment opportunities.

1 Corinthians 12:12: “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.”

Vision Statement: Walther Christian Academy will graduate Christ-centered learners from a relevant and rigorous academic environment, and prepare them for a fulfilling lifetime of purpose, learning and service.

Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Core Values:

We live in God’s grace.

We are family.

We believe God has a purpose for everyone.

We are a proudly diverse community.

We are Christ-centered, and rooted in the Lutheran tradition.

Strategic Initiative #1: Expand opportunities for students.

While continuing to build on the college-preparatory strengths, such as adding more AP classes and continuously improving our curriculum, we will enhance our career-planning program, identify resources for students interested in trades, and develop internship opportunities.

Strategic Initiative #2: Enhance Walther’s campus.

Plans include replacing our electrical system and installing central air conditioning, replacing our exterior windows for improved esthetics and energy efficiency, building ongoing improvements into our operating budget and keeping the grounds and landscaping beautiful.

Strategic Initiative #3: Strengthen fiscal foundation and long-term sustainability.

To put us on solid ground for the next generation we plan to increase foundation and corporate support, increase alumni engagement and support, identify more legacy donors, and help supporters include Walther in their estate planning.

Strategic Initiative #4: Create excellence in organizational operations and culture.

To achieve excellence, we will create leadership succession plans through mentorship, leadership development training, and other supports for high performance, high potential individuals; increase faculty diversity; increase faculty salaries; better onboard new students, teachers and families to understand our culture; and refine and consistently communicate our brand and identity.
